Fireproofing

No we aren't fire proofing out new home.....we are fireproofing our marriage.

Neither Eric or I were super impressed with our pre-marriage counseling which consisted of "OH! you fight about money.....well it's great that you've figured that out......."

Okay so we also had a secret hope that maybe another newly married couple would also be wanting to learn more about how to make their marriage successful and were also looking for friends.....no such luck in the last category. I believe the youngest couple there were our parents age (really old according to Eric)......SO our goal is to learn as much as we can from the 6 other couples who have been in their marriages for several years.

It's supposed to snow again here tomorrow....imagine my excitement.....

  1. Hey Jill! Are you guys going through The Love Dare book or were you just talking about the movie Fireproff in a general sense? We are also very interested in marriage tips! I've thought about buying The Love Dare, but I wasn't sure if it was more geared toward marriages that were on the rocks.

  2. Hey Chelsie! We are going to do the Love Dare book after we get done with the class. (It might be to much homework for us to do both :-) The group study has a different book (which follows the movie) and then the Love Dare book is what the guy in the movie used. Our group is made up of happily married couples who just wanted to make their marriages even better. They were all excited we were taking it because they think it will help us develop habits at the beggining of our marriage that we can take throughout. One of the men actually told our group leaders that they should advertise the class differently because it turns some people off like "we don't need to do that our marriage is fine" Hope all is well in the Holste House!

  3. Hey, hey! I resent the "old" people remark - hah! Sorry there weren't other youngsters, however. Just remember, Eric, you have quite an assortment of "old" people lined up to help you move. We might suddenly be too decrepit!
