Carol Ireton-Jones

For all you dietitians out there you will quickly look at my subject and know exactly who I'm referring to. Tonight at the ODDA (Omaha District Dietetic Association) Meeting she was the guest speaker.....even if she was sponsored by one of my competitors I was interested in hearing her speak tonight.

For those of you who are not dietitians or soon-to-be RDs then let me give you a quick briefing. During our 5 years of schooling you often hear calculate this person's energy (calorie) needs using the Ireton-Jones Equation.....(yes the woman who came up with this equation spoke to us tonight) Her equation is specifically used to calculate energy needs for patients in acute care on ventilators. Okay...okay....i hear you...stop talking this scientific talk!! :-)

I visited a potential patient today at a cancer center near our house this afternoon so I headed home for a bit before going to my meeting tonight (which counted for multiple sales calls since I talked with several of my referral sources)....so not only did I get continuing education credit I also got to count it towards my 50 sales calls for the week (which I'm a little behind on, since I've already set up 3 patients this week :-) ANYWHO!!! Back on track....I WENT FOR A WALK OUTSIDE...granted it was only 20 minutes because my time was limited but it was GLORIOUS to be able to be outside and moving without wanting to run inside and curl up in a blanket....we can even see some of our backyard...but never fear we still have plenty of snow melting to go.

I almost forgot to tell you our BIG NEWS!!! We are going to Cirque de soleil on Sunday, March 27th! When I found out they were going to be in Omaha I asked Eric if we could consider getting tickets and he agreed that it would be a good show! He bought tickets today for us!! Don't worry I will post after we go...however, I don't believe that photography is allowed (you're not even supposed to take out your cellphone during the production)

Well I guess I need starting cheering harder for the BIG GAME!!! GO CATS!!!

  1. Hey have fun at the Cirque show. i went to one in Florida and my brother went to one in KC too. What is your's about? Mine was about dreams and it was ridiculously trippy. I really want to see the one called O in Vegas and it's completely underwater. Anyway I'm anxious to see what you think it's bizarre.
